DescriptionRobert Half Finance and Accounting and Kevin Sweet have partnered with a privately held investment group that has a long and successful track record spanning several decades. They are seeking a Controller to lead all accounting and financial operations and serve as a key strategic partner to the CFO, ownership and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, consolidations, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Manage and mentor a small accounting team; ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
- Prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements and management reports for multiple entities and investment vehicles.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
- Partner with leadership on investment analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Maintain internal controls and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Support due diligence, acquisitions, and divestitures within the real estate and energy portfolios.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including time in public accounting and private industry.
- Strong understanding of real estate and/or energy accounting principles.
- Proven ability to manage multi-entity structures and complex investments.
- Hands-on leader comfortable in a lean, entrepreneurial environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with ownership and external stakeholders.
- Advanced user of Excel and have project management and system upgrade or implementation experience.
