Creative Growth Art Center is a studio and gallery that supports artists with developmental, mental, and physical disabilities. We provide a professional studio environment, gallery exhibition and representation, and community building.
Position Summary
The Development Coordinator will manage and execute key fundraising programs, including our membership program and grant portfolio, while supporting broader development operations. We're looking for an enthusiastic, strategic, and detail-oriented professional who can balance program management with operational excellence. The successful candidate will have an appreciation of culture and community; enjoy being part of a close-knit team; and thrive in a nimble, fast-paced, evolving environment. This position will be based on-site to allow for relationship building.
Key Responsibilities
The Development Coordinator will lead the organization's membership program and manage a portfolio of foundation and government grants. This role combines program management with operational support, including database management, gift processing, donor engagement, and special projects. The coordinator will work closely with the Development Director to advance fundraising goals and maintain strong donor relationships.
Manage and grow the organization's membership program, including member acquisition, retention, and stewardship strategies; coordinate member benefits, events, and communications; track membership metrics and report on program performance.
Manage a portfolio of foundation and government grants, including researching funding opportunities, preparing proposals and reports, tracking deadlines and deliverables, and maintaining relationships with program officers
Support activities related to fundraising from individuals and corporations, including campaign execution, sponsorship cultivation, and donor communications.
Collaborate with other departments to integrate development efforts into overall organizational activities.
Support fundraising and other special events, including exhibition receptions and public programs.
Maintain and optimize use of Salesforce database, including managing donation web portal; entering gifts and processing timely acknowledgment letters; ensuring data accuracy through regular database maintenance; generating reports and mailing lists for appeals, events, and other activities.
Identify and research new funding opportunities, creating prospect profiles and briefing materials for leadership.
Handle donor and public inquiries, providing exemplary customer service.
Support the Development Director with special projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional fundraising experience in a nonprofit development department required.
Proficiency with Salesforce required.
Experience with donation processing and database management is essential.
Strong computer skills, including Google Suite and Microsoft Suite or equivalent.
Working knowledge of fundraising best practices and donor stewardship principles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling donor communications and grant proposals.
Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
Ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule to manage events and programs that occur outside core working hours (e.g., weeknights, holidays, and weekends).
Strong analytical skills with experience tracking metrics and preparing reports.
Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently in a time-sensitive manner.
Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with diverse stakeholders.
Professional demeanor, team player, positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience with membership programs and/or grant management strongly preferred.
Demonstrated passion for the arts and/or social justice and/or disability justice.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
The work of the Development Coordinator is performed in an office and studio environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively with others, both in person and through digital means.
The role frequently involves sitting for extended periods and using standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and printers.
Occasional standing, walking within studio and gallery spaces, light lifting (up to 20 pounds), and attending on-site meetings or events may be required.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $32.00 - $37.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
