The purpose of this position is to further develop and provide clinical services. The Director will also plan, organize, develop and execute policy and procedures for the agency’s clinical/counseling programs. Responsibilities also include the supervision of interns or any other clinical staff. Tracks and documents work completed and works with the Office Administrator to ensure timely and accurate billing. The work is performed under the direction of the Director of Youth & Family Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive because our work is ever changing and never boring. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Counseling Services and Responsibilities:

  • Carry a clinical case load and submit all required documentation and reports in a timely manner. Time in session counseling individual, families, couples or in groups is estimated to be 50-60% of work week.
  • Provides individual, group and family counseling, therapy and crisis intervention as needed
  • Works with the Prevention Coordinator to provide community education on youth, family and community issues to RSD17 and other youth-serving organizations in Middlesex County
  • Provide regularly scheduled supervision to interns or other program staff as assigned (intern rotation is contingent upon agency needs, space, demands)

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Work with Executive Director to develop, monitor and analyze clinical and where appropriate, program performance outcomes and quality improvement goals
  • Assigns cases; monitors case assessments, treatment plans and case records for all clinical/counseling cases
  • Oversees policies and procedures in order to meet yearly revenue goals. Collects copays, counseling revenue, fees and third-party reimbursements, and includes direct oversight of clinical staff credentialing, and operations related to billing and accounts receivable
  • Represents the agency at local, regional and statewide meetings and keep abreast of professional and community resources
  • Attends and actively participates (when appropriate) on community, regional and State committees to provide integrated services to the youth and families of Haddam Killingworth
  • At the request of the Executive Director, attends Board meetings in order to provide overall updates on the department, clinical programs and revenue.
  • May perform the responsibilities of the Director during his/her absence as necessary, including oversight of staff
  • Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of records
  • Performs other related functions as assigned or required

Terms and Benefits:

  • Position is salaried, 40 hour work week that includes two evenings, 52 weeks
  • Three weeks paid vacation; 10 sick days; 3 personal days
  • The office is closed for ten holidays as outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Social security, Worker’s Compensation and Professional Liability Insurance covered
  • Mileage is reimbursed at the prevailing government rate
  • Day-to-day supervision is provided by the Executive Director. Clinical Supervision may be provided by an outside provider
  • A monthly stipend will be paid toward the cost of the individual or group health insurance plan and/or dental plan offered by the agency

Minimum Training and Experience Required:

  • A Master’s Degree in Social work, Psychology or a closely related clinical field of study and a minimum of two years practical experience
  • Current license in the State of Connecticut as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • A minimum of one year (2 or more years preferred) experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Office products and Therapy Notes
  • Possession of a valid State of Connecticut driver’s license for travel between offices, schools and meeting attendance
  • Clearance of a required background check
