A Financial Controller is required for a family owned retail business in Perth. Your new company
A historic family owned business within the retail sector that is exclusively working with Hays to find them an excellent Financial Controller. An exciting time to join the business, that is going through an exciting period of change.
Your new role
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead the finance team and maintain the financial integrity of the business.

• Take ownership of month-end close, statutory reporting, and general ledger management. Ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with accounting standards.
• Manage the annual budget cycle and rolling forecasts. Build advanced financial models and dashboards using Excel, Power BI, and other tools to deliver strategic insights.
• Handle daily and strategic cash management, optimise working capital, and manage insurance programs across the retail network to mitigate risk and ensure coverage.
• Mentor a team of four accountants, foster a culture of growth and excellence, and fulfil Company Secretary duties including governance and contract oversight.
• Ownership of the financial system, looking at best practices and ways to improve processes.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be a CA/CPA qualified Accountant with a background in working for small to medium sized organisations and have provided strong financial leadership skills. This role will be hands on, therefore will suit someone who has held a hands on role and lead a team of 5. This role is office based, not too far from the city and there is parking provided. Ideally, you will be able to start in the next 4-5 weeks to get a handover with the current occupant of the role.
