Description

Well established solo practitioner, personal injury law firm seeking an enthusiastic paralegal/legal assistant to join our team in Sarasota County. The position requires assistance with day-to-day office operations and procedures such as client meetings, client intakes/closings, bookkeeping; maintaining the office calendars, communicating with clients on a regular basis and managing a large caseload.

The right candidate will have strong writing and interpersonal skills; be able to complete work in a timely manner; succeed in a fast-paced, high-volume environment; demonstrate sound and accurate judgment; be self-motivated towards achieving personal and organizational goals; use time efficiently; approach matters in a professional and tactful manner; and be dependable. Professional appearance is a must.

Requirements

Experience:

Paralegal/Law firm: 3 years (Required)
Personal Injury experience: 3 years (Required)
Experience with case management software required
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
Bookkeeping (experience with Quickbooks is a plus)
Notary (required)
Westlaw/LexisNexis (required)

Education:

Associates or Paralegal (Required)
Duties/Requirements include:

Front Office Administration
Legal drafting, review and summarize
Demand packages/letters
Case intake and management
Serve as first contact on telephones (low call volume)
Coordinate communications, including taking and returning phone calls, responding to emails and interfacing with clients
Manage schedules, calendars and appointments
Manage travel itineraries
Securing police reports
Sort and deliver mail to staff daily
Order office supplies and maintain inventory
Coordinate with IT/Consultant on maintenance of all office equipment
Facilitate relationships with pertinent community members such as vendors, professionals, referral sources, etc.
Assist attorney with miscellaneous tasks including ministerial duties/errands
Articulate and professional
Enthusiastic, self-starter who works well with a team
Ability to handle confidential matters
Must be an excellent problem-solver, with the ability to reconcile issues independently
Strong work ethic
English/Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred.
