Our Human Resources Division is seeking two (2) Senior Human Resources Business Partners for our dynamic Employee Relations Team! One position will primarily focus on Classification and Compensation and the other primarily on Employee Relations.

Our Classification and Compensation Business Partner is a new position recently added to our team. Their focus will primarily be to ensure consistent and accurate application of the County’s methodology through job and classification specification analysis and market research. In addition, they will partner with other team members to provide a full range of human resources professional and technical services to our County clients. The successful candidate will also help implement best practices in compensation under the Oregon Pay Equity Act.
 
Ideal candidates will have skills and knowledge of best practices in compensation; experience conducting job analysis and market surveys; experience providing analytical and technical support to assist union negotiation teams; strong attention to detail; an aptitude for critical thinking; and drive to advance the County’s commitment towards pay equity.

Our Employee Relations Business Partners collaborate with a portfolio of client departments to ensure fair, respectful, productive, and consistent management of staff; partner with leaders including union representatives; and provide support within the framework of our core organizational mission, values, and objectives. Part of our team’s charge is to proactively support staff and managers in advancing our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Our team members must have the ability to build and maintain trusting relationships; collaborate with and influence managers within the organization; and create, audit and sustain positive workplace relations programs. Balancing time between projects and time-sensitive personnel issues is a critical component for success. 
 
To be selected for this role, the candidate will demonstrate that they possess employee and labor relations expertise and have highly developed analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. Working within a team of experienced business partners, this position will be solutions-oriented with regard to policy and contract interpretation.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, public administration, business administration or management, or other related degree program from an accredited institution of higher education; AND Six (6) years of professional Human Resources experience related to the position with spanning responsibilities in several of the defined principal duties of this classification, OR

  • An Associate Degree in Human Resources, public administration, business administration or management, or other related degree program; AND Eight (8) years of professional Human Resources experience related to the position spanning several responsibilities in the defined principal duties of this classification.


Preferred Requirements:
• Experience with project management and Oracle data systems.
• Professional certifications such as Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), or other HR discipline specific specialties.
