Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Secretary to the Client Payment and Accounts Receivable Administrator. Under direction, this position will perform technical secretarial and complex, specialized office support functions. The position will gather, analyze, and interpret data from various sources and develop, maintain, and monitor tracking and reporting systems for the unit. The position will also receive and direct visitors, answer phones, and represent the Administrator through routine oral and written contact with various entities. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and interested in playing a supporting role in the Department's operations. Job Responsibilities
1. Serves as Secretary to the Client Payment and Accounts Receivable Administrator
2. Develops and/or maintains and monitors tracking and reporting systems for the unit
3. Develops and/or maintains filing systems for the Central Payment Unit and Central Office Vouchering Unit
4. Receives and direct visitors, providing specialized information
5. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college OR completion of high school and two years of related office experience OR two years of independent business experience
- Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm
Preferred Qualifications (In order of Significance)
- 2 years of experience in an office setting applying knowledge of office practices, procedures, and programs
- 2 years of experience in an office setting applying knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- 2 years of experience in an office setting applying working knowledge of the logic of computer programs
- 2 years of experience in an office setting applying the ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment and performing routine maintenance
