Description
The Accounting and Administrative Specialist at NeighborWorks Montana is a full-time position that supports both financial and administrative tasks. Key duties include managing accounts payable and receivable, processing payments, maintaining records, and ensuring policy compliance. The role also supports hiring and onboarding new staff and provides general office support. Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills are important for success in this role.
Title: Accounting and Administrative Specialist
Pay Range: $22-$26 hourly
Work Schedule: 40 hours, Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm
Location: Montana (remote and in office possibility)
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS in accounting, business, finance, or related field — or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role
- Must be located within Montana
- Strong oral and written communication skill
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with accounting software and online banking preferred
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, contractors, and vendors
- Team player with a positive attitude
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE / RECEIVABLE
- Review, code, and process accounts payable
- Complete accounts receivable invoicing, monitoring, and collections
- Respond to inquiries from vendors and co-workers
- Issue vendor 1099’s
HUMAN RESOURCES – HIRING & ONBOARDING
- Support the recruitment process for new employees including working with managers on collecting applications, screening applicants, coordinating, and assisting with interviews, performing background and reference checks, and communicating with applicants as to their application status
- Complete the intake and general orientation process for new hires including preparing and supporting employees to complete all required documents
- Review employee handbook, policies and benefits with new hire and address any questions
- File all paperwork with necessary agencies and vendors, and internally
ADMINISTRATION
Support administrative needs for Great Falls and remote offices as directed including activities such as processing mail, addressing maintenance needs and maintaining general office procedures.
