1. Bachelor's degree OR in lieu of specified degree, any combination of education and experience may be substituted for the required degree that equals four (4) years in project management.

2. In addition to #1, must have six (6) years of professional level experience developing, implementing, and managing human resources projects that include: change management, interacting with senior leadership, and writing program or business proposals.

3. Experience managing projects successfully from start to finish.

4. Considerable knowledge of:

• human resources principles and programs.
• organizational development and change management theories and principles.
• program/project management principles and techniques.

5. Strong:

• verbal and written communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• employee development and performance management skills.

6. Skill working with a high degree of accuracy, quality, and thoroughness.

7. Demonstrated:

• initiative and willingness to take necessary risks.
• resourcefulness in identifying alternatives to achieve objectives

8. Intermediate skill using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

9. Ability to:

• set priorities, develop work schedules, monitor progress towards goals, meet deadlines, and track details/data/information/activities.
• foster teamwork by working cooperatively and effectively with others to establish goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance programs.
• work independently on multiple tasks with a sense of urgency.

10. Must be:

• willing to travel within Metra’s 6-county region.
• available to work flexible hours in the early morning, late afternoon, evenings, or weekends.

Preferences:

1. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
