Description
Job Title: Bursar RepresentativeDepartment: Bursars Office
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Position Summary
Assists the Bursar in the execution of the Bursar's office duties and is responsible for the collection of student accounts. Provides superior customer service to Bursar customers at all times.
ESSENTIAL SUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
\t• First point of contact for Bursars Office customers at the front desk, phone calls and emails.
\t• Assists the Bursar in billing students for their tuition and fees.
\t\to Supports the Bursar in billing the military.
\t• Assists the Bursar in disbursing loan refunds to students.
\t• Processes physical checks that are remitted to the Bursars Office using remote capture with the Colleges bank.
\t• Notifies students when their paper loan checks are in the office for their signature.
\t• Locates/Notifies students when paper checks are returned undeliverable.
\t• Assists the Bursar with the LOA/Withdrawal process and notifies students of any balances. Follow through with needed collection efforts with the collection company.
\t• Liaison with PCOMs Student Loan Servicer
\t\to Processes self-certification letters for the PCL loans
\t\to Coordinates loan verifications for borrowers requesting consolidation of student loans
\t\to Processes advance files for LDS
\t\to Processes deferments for PCL, LDS, and Alumni borrowers
\t• Assists students in solving tuition-related questions.
\t• Process monthly billing for PCOM tenants, GME sites, and miscellaneous invoices.
\t• Assists PCOM departments with miscellaneous deposits.
\t• Makes cash deposits to the bank and picking up the garage kiosk change order.
\t• Collects money from the garage collection kiosks and replenishes change to the kiosks.
\t• Assists PCOM community with miscellaneous item setups on the e-bookstore site (i.e. courses, key return fee)
\t• Assist with the implementation of the Bursar-related workstreams of a new ERP system.
\t• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
\t•\tPreferred: Two-year Associates Degree or related experience
Experience and Required Skills
\t• 2 years of administrative experience
\t• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
Starting Salary: $26/hr
