Description
The Queens County District Attorney’s Office (QDA) is seeking a Community Response Team Coordinator for its Community Engagement Unit, within its Community Partnerships Division (CPD). The Community Engagement Unit actively engages with communities to ensure that QDA is aware of issues as they arise throughout Queens County. Community Response Team staff are assigned to specific geographic areas corresponding to community districts and precincts.
The Community Response Team Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of duties including, but not limited to:
1. Attend Community Board, Precinct Council, and Civic Associations meetings and events
2. Prepare daily activity logs, in addition to weekly, quarterly, and annual reports (as requested)
3. Prepare meeting and event reports
4. Prepare District Attorney briefings
5. Network with and cultivate relationships with leaders and members of the community
6. Serve as a liaison to the Asian community
7. Report community inquiries and concerns to the Community Partnerships Division for investigation and referral to the appropriate bureaus for handling
8. Research community events and programs
9. Monitor press reports for pertinent information
10. Attend Community Engagement Unit and Community Partnerships Division meetings
11. Maintain and update Community Engagement Unit tracking sheets and calendars
12. Assist in departmental and divisional program and event planning, as needed
13. Assist the Community Partnerships Division, as needed
14. Attend community engagement events, meetings, programs etc. during evenings, weekends and holidays as needed and work a flexible schedule based on events (8:30-11:00 AM through 4:30–7:00 PM)
Requirements
Preferred Education and Qualification Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. All candidates must have a high school diploma or its educational equivalent and at least one year of experience working in a professional office setting and/or working with the community and/or in the criminal justice field.
Candidates must have a working knowledge of computers; Microsoft Office software; and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preference will be given to candidates that have the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, as well as those that possess strong collaborative, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
Candidates must be fluent in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
The selected candidate will be required to work evenings/and or weekend hours based on CPD needs.
Salary: $77,750
