The Database Administrator is responsible for updating, monitoring, and troubleshooting development and production environment database servers and associated infrastructure. In addition to ensuring database availability, reliability, and security, the Database Administrator will work closely with other IT professionals to assist with any database related questions and provide guidance on SQL Server best practices, as well as writing custom reports and queries.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Oversee SQL database and servers including performance management, security, installations, upgrades, patches, backup, recovery, space management, performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Support administration of SQL Database Server, including changes to database definition, structure and documentation.
- Responsible for database backup and restore functions including scheduled tests of disaster recovery (DR) availability. Requires in depth experience with SQL server High Availability technologies, such as Clustering, Replication and Always-On Availability Groups.
- Monitoring and Performance Tuning; physical server level, database level (database settings and options) and query tuning.
- Execute policies and procedures related to data security and integrity; monitor and limit database access as needed.
- Design, model, and document database schema.
- Develop stored procedures, ad-hoc queries, functions and views.
- Work with IT teams and Senior DBA to support various products/applications and assist business users and developers with database-related issues.
- Rotating on call and off hours support.
Qualifications:
- Degree in computer science or management information systems or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in a technical environment, managing large, complex data sets and database systems is required.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Able to effectively work independently and as part of a team.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server 2016-2019, TSQL, is required.
- Experience with other database platforms, such as MySql and Postgres SQL, is a plus.
- Exposure to cloud warehouse management, such as adjusting permissions and monitoring usage in Snowflake or Databricks, is a plus.

Analysis Group offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000—$125,000. Compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including work experience, education, and skill level.
