What You Will Do
- Assist the Director of Development in a variety of essential projects and events to support development, alumni relations, and event planning activities in the SIUE College of Arts and Sciences.
- Assist in the development and implementation of assigned programs for alumni, donors, and friends of the College.
- Initiate projects that will be beneficial to the work of the development program in the College and is expected to anticipate next steps and follow-up related to fundraising activities.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Public Administration, Mass Communications, Business,
or a related field.
3+ years of work experience in marketing, public relations, and/or planning events or a related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications include: Experience in nonprofit management, development, alumni relations, experience with fundraising,
contact relationship management (CRM) or other database software. Preferred competencies include: Strong interpersonal and
communications skills characterized by the ability to listen, speak, and write well; high attention to detail and follow-up and excellent
organizational skills; ability to manage confidential information with discretion and tact; demonstrated skill and knowledge of (or ability to
learn quickly) the internal workings of a University as well as the technology tools available to development, including RaisersEdge NXT
(the University's Donor Relationship Management System), Awards Management (formerly Academic Works), Microsoft Windows
computer environment, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of HTML and design software such as Cascade
and social media platforms; ability to work collegially and collaboratively in a team setting; an exceptional work ethic and track record of
personal initiative; flexibility and adaptability to new programs in an emerging and changing environment; willingness and ability to travel
to non-campus locations for University business; willingness and ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Illinois Residency Requirement: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.
