- Hours are flexible between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend hours for workshops, staff retreats, and professional development activities.
- Dates of the contract are August 2026 until May 2027. Eligible for renewal from August 2027 to May 2028.
- Each GA will be reevaluated after one year to be considered for renewal.
- Training in August and January.
- Assist in organizing and implementing CASA Retention and Programming Events.
- Provide support to enrolled CASA Students.
- Manage student caseload.
- Develop and implement CASA Retention Programs.
- Assist in planning program activities, correspondence, typing reports, and formal documents, and maintaining program websites.
- Perform general secretarial and administrative duties: maintain program files, and other official records and files.
- Create an email distribution list and Calendar of Events for all program students.
- Attend all scheduled meetings, training, and staff development and programs pertaining to CASA programming: Graduate Assistant Restorative Conference Meetings, professional development.
- Assist with College Day Programs and Unitas Weekend.
- Create, implement, and evaluate programs pertaining to the CASA Retention and Outreach Program. This includes coordinating the logistics of the programs: creating flyers, reserving space, notifying students, sign-up sheets, transportation, contacting speakers, etc. to promote academic, personal, social, and career-related development.
- Present selected topics pertaining to Early Access at annual Staff Training, Conferences, and throughout campus.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Must be fully accepted into a master's degree program at Villanova University.
- Must be a full-time student and carry 9 graduate credit hours per semester to be considered for employment.
- May take a reduced course load in their final semester if approved by the Graduate Dean.
- Must be available to work 20 hours each week during the fall and spring semesters, between the hours of 9 am-5 pm.
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

- Applicants are encouraged to include any experience that would be relevant to the position such as: working with diverse populations, academic writing, conference presentations, research experience, customer service skills, data entry, web design, blogging, etc.
- Skills/Qualifications:
- General research skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Outlook proficiency.
- Comfortable working with diverse and minoritized populations.
- Ability to work on evenings and weekends.
- Skills in analyzing student's strengths and encouraging students in the areas where they may be successful.
- Ability to build relationships with students in professional settings.
- Ability to speak honestly with students whether through encouragement or constructive criticism.
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about the academic processes at Villanova.
- Ability to communicate effectively in diverse environments.
- Strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.
- Comfortable meeting 1:1 with students.
- Programming experience.
- Graduate assistants work approximately 20 hours per week.
- They will be expected to participate in staff retreats and on- and off-campus professional development activities.
- Work begins the first day of training for the Fall Semester and continues through the week of final examinations.
- Graduate assistants receive a monthly stipend.
- Assistantships will be assigned for two semesters and can be renewed for an additional two semesters upon evaluation.
- There are no assistantships during the Summer Semester. All graduate assistantship appointments provide a full tuition waiver for 9-12 graduate credit hours, depending on the particular program of study, and a monthly stipend for the academic year (paid August May). No summer classes will be paid.
- Fees (e.g., activities fee, student life fee, health services fee, parking fee, late fee) remain the responsibility of the graduate assistant.
- If an appointment is made after the beginning of the semester, the stipend will be prorated based on the number of weeks remaining in the semester.
- If an assistant resigns, is dismissed, or is otherwise unable to work the required number of hours, the tuition waiver and stipend will be prorated based on the amount of time worked.
- While subject to renewal, all assistantships end with the close of university operations for the spring semester each year. Graduate assistants do not work during the winter session break or during the summer months unless agreed upon.
