OverviewMeadowbrook Country Club is seeking an exceptional Head Golf Professional to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the Director of Golf, this position plays a central role in delivering an outstanding golf experience for our members and guests. The Head Golf Professional supports and elevates the Director of Golf's vision by overseeing front-line service, tournament operations, player engagement, and the daily standard operating procedures that define the Meadowbrook golf experience.

- October-March: Golf staff works five days per week or less
- In-Season: Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional work 5.5 days per week, averaging 45-50 hours

About Meadowbrook Country Club
Meadowbrook is an upscale private club located in beautiful Ballwin, Missouri, approximately 25 minutes west of downtown St. Louis.
A Brief History
- Founded in 1944 in Overland, Missouri
- Relocated to Ballwin after a clubhouse fire in the late 1950s
- Original course built by Robert Bruce Harris (1960)
- Major renovation by Keith Foster (1998)
- Recent renovation by Kevin Hargrave (2021), along with extensive capital improvements including new rock wall structures on several signature holes
The golf course is the crown jewel of Meadowbrook:
- 7,195 yards, Rating 75.7, Slope 144
- Home to over a dozen scratch or plus-handicap players
- Over 50 members with an index below 5.0 and more than 150 single-digit players

Expectations of the Professional Golf Staff
Delivering an exceptional daily golf experience is essential. Responsibilities include:
- Warmly greeting members and guests and assisting before their rounds
- Ensuring tee times run efficiently and pace of play remains at or below targeted time
- Maintaining an organized, fully stocked, professional practice facility
- Presenting a clean, well-merchandised golf shop
- Building authentic relationships and remembering names
- Anticipating member needs and delivering service that exceeds expectations

Experience Required
Experience & Qualifications Required
- PGA Class A Member in good standing.
Level 3 PGA Associates who are on track to obtain membership in 2026 will be considered. Preference will be given to Class A Members. - Experience as an Assistant Golf Professional at a high-end private facility, contributing meaningfully to golf operations and demonstrating leadership within their current team.
- Passion for hospitality and service, exhibiting the mindset and behaviors of a servant-leader.
- Outgoing, engaging personality with the ability to build genuine relationships with a diverse membership.
- Strong teaching and club-fitting acumen, with the ability to deliver individual, group, and junior instruction at a high level.
- Proficiency in tournament operations and event management, including strong working knowledge of Golf Genius.
- Technologically proficient, comfortable learning and applying new platforms.
Meadowbrook is currently transitioning to Club Essentials. - Experience with junior golf programming and leading player development initiatives.
- Merchandising experience, including ordering, inventory management, selling, display presentation, and financial reporting/billing.
- Strong playing ability is preferred, though not required.
The candidate must possess deep knowledge of the game, including rules, etiquette, traditions, and a commitment to ongoing improvement in their own play.
Essential Responsibilities
Member & Guest Experience
- Provide exceptional front-line service, ensuring a welcoming, professional, and consistent high-quality experience for all members and guests.
- Maintain strong presence throughout the golf operation, proactively engaging with players and anticipating member needs.
- Leading by example and through daily coaching and inspection of the golf staff in the team's engagement plan and play coordinator roles with the goal of consistency.
Tournament & Event Operations
- Manage, plan, and execute all tournament operations, including member and outside events.
- Own the event lifecycle-from idea to execution to post-event review-ensuring world-class presentation, organization, and communication.
Play Coordinator & Pace of Play Oversight
- Direct the Play Coordinator program, focusing on member engagement at the 1st tee, guest welcoming, and real-time pace of play monitoring.
- Establish standards and expectations for Play Coordinators to positively influence the member experience by creating a consistent visibility of the staff to the members and guests.
Staff Scheduling & Supervisory Duties
- Create and manage scheduling for Assistant Golf Professionals and Golf Shop Assistants to ensure appropriate staffing levels during peak times.
- Provide on-the-job coaching, feedback, accountability, and professional development opportunities for golf operations staff.
Teaching & Player Development
- Conduct individual and group golf instruction, including junior golf programming, clinics, and coaching series.
- Promote and grow lesson participation through approachability, visibility, and consistent instructional quality.
Merchandising & Golf Shop Support
- Assist with merchandising displays, inventory counts, ordering decisions, and shop presentation standards.
- Support the Director of Golf and Merchandising Lead with product selection, seasonal layouts, and retail strategies.
- Participate in club fitting sessions and perform basic club repair services to enhance the golf shop service offering.
Financial and Member Billing Responsibility
- Assist in the department's member billing to ensure accuracy.
- Assist the Director of Golf and other golf staff to build accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in tracking of departmental expenses and revenues to align with the annual budget and overall Club financial goals.
- Assisting the Director of Golf in financial planning including the annual operation budget and merchandise buying plan.
