Overview
Supervise University's solid waste and recycling activities in accordance with New York City Code; train recycling staff, assign work to and monitor staff performance. Serve as liaison with University's janitorial contractor to advise on waste handling procedures; communicate changes in procedures or services. Route and coordinate waste and recycling collections and container services provided by University's waste hauler. Inspect recycling and waste handling areas throughout University to ensure operation and cleanliness.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience:
5 years' increasingly responsible janitorial, recycling and solid waste operations experience in multiple facilities plant including some supervisory experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Good communication and customer service skills. Knowledge of New York City Recycling Codes. Knowledge of basic OSHA requirements. Knowledge of solid waste collection vechicles, equipment and maintenance procedures. Familiarity with basic word processing and spreadsheet applications. Must possess valid NYS driver's license. Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate salary range for this position is USD $38.716 to USD $48.716. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
