Position Summary
The Press Brake Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the press brake department in a precision sheet metal fabrication environment. This role ensures production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are followed. The supervisor will lead a team of press brake operators, provide technical guidance, and coordinate with other departments to optimize workflow and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
· Manage and schedule press brake operators to meet production targets.
· Train and mentor team members on machine setup, operation, and safety procedures.
· Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
Production Management
· Ensure jobs are completed according to specifications, drawings, and tolerances.
· Monitor machine performance and coordinate maintenance as needed.
· Optimize material usage and minimize waste.
Quality Control
· Inspect parts for accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
· Implement corrective actions for non-conforming parts.
Safety & Compliance
· Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
· Ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
Continuous Improvement
· Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce setup times, and increase efficiency.
· Collaborate with engineering and production planning teams for workflow improvements.
Qualifications
· Minimum 35 years of experience in press brake operation and sheet metal fabrication.
· Previous supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Strong knowledge of precision sheet metal processes, tooling, and CNC press brake programming.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
· Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machinery.
