Elementary Leadership That Builds Belonging, Learning, and Trust
Elementary school is where many students first learn what school feels like. They are building confidence, learning routines, making friends, and beginning to see themselves as readers, writers, helpers, and problem-solvers. It is joyful, important work, and it takes a school that pays attention to both the big picture and the little things, including the occasional mystery of a missing mitten.
Nine Mile Falls Elementary is seeking a principal who understands that strong elementary leadership is both relational and instructional. The right leader will be present in the daily life of the school, support staff, guide school improvement, communicate clearly with families, and help keep Nine Mile Falls Elementary a safe, welcoming, and well-organized place for students to learn and grow.
Nine Mile Falls is a small district with strong relationships and deep community connections. A leader here does not lead from a distance; they become part of the rhythm of the school and community. The right person will bring steady judgment, care for people, a belief in strong instruction, and a willingness to work alongside staff and families so Nine Mile Falls Elementary continues to be a place where students are known, supported, and encouraged to grow.
Salary and Benefits
As outlined by and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement of the Nine Mile Falls Administrators Association and the policies and procedures of Nine Mile Falls School District.
The base salary range for the position, based on the 2026-2027 Salary Matrix, is $131,846 to $142,637. Salary placement will be determined in accordance with the appropriate salary schedule and verified by relevant experience. This position also receives five (5) additional per diem days, vacation cashout, and a cell phone stipend.
A typical work year consists of 260 days, which includes workdays, holidays, 40 vacation days, and other approved leave days. Administrators shall receive and may utilize illness and emergency leave consistent with state statutes, board policy, and leave afforded to other certificated employees.
Employees anticipated to work more than 630 hours per year will be eligible for benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Standard benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-term disability. Positions anticipated to work 70 hours or more per month for at least five months over a 12-month period are eligible for retirement through the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems.
