DPMC seeks a full-time Legal Secretary to join the downtown office on-site. A candidate with a Paralegal certificate is not required but would be a plus. This position plays a key role in assisting DPMC attorneys in a variety of administrative tasks, including but not limited to, responsibility for legal document preparation, assisting legal professionals, utilizing clerical skills and providing administrative support for our government entity and private clients in the state of California.
Salary commensurate with experience. DPMC offers competitive health insurance benefits, and a 401(k) plan with a partial match.
Requirements
- Knowledge of State and Federal Court rules as they relate to preparation of pleadings, court filings, discovery, service of process and trial preparation.
Knowledge of basic State and Federal Court litigation calendaring and service requirements. (Familiarity with Prolaw legal docketing program would be beneficial.) - Manage daily administrative tasks, including time entry, expense submissions, calendar management, scheduling, document editing, and travel coordination.
- Learn internal tools and workflows to offer proactive, creative solutions to attorney and team needs.
- Support billing processes, including generating and editing client invoices and submitting them through the appropriate channels.
- Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality with all sensitive firm and client information.
- Ensure careful handling of privileged, financial, or proprietary materials in accordance with firm policies.
- QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to communicate professionally and confidently with attorneys, staff, clients, and vendors.
- Resourceful and capable of working independently while maintaining a strong team-oriented, client-service mindset.
- Balance multiple tasks and adapt well to evolving technology and firm systems.
- Minimum of 3 years of legal secretary experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
