Description
Collin Central Appraisal District (Collin CAD) is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Litigation Specialist. This position is responsible for providing assistance in relation to all aspects of appraisal district functions and the property tax system as they pertain to litigation matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform clerical and general office duties.
Schedule and attend settlement conferences, mediations, depositions, and trials, as applicable.
Prepare, research, maintain, and process lawsuits within the litigation database and CAMA software.
Communicate daily with the District’s attorney staff regarding settlement offers, appraisal reports, trial exhibits, and other litigation-related matters.
Support appraisal district operations related to litigation and property tax administration.
Requirements
Education and Experience
Required Qualifications
RPA designation required.
Minimum of five (5) years of mass appraisal experience.
Appraisal district experience related to real estate valuation or ad valorem tax appraisal.
Reliable transportation, a valid Texas driver’s license, and proof of auto liability insurance.
Preferred Qualifications
College degree with an emphasis in:
Real Estate
Finance
Economics
Mathematics
Business Administration
Or possession of an appraisal designation
Required Skills and Abilities
Excellent research and analytical skills.
Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in person, by telephone, and via email.
Proficiency with:
Microsoft Windows operating systems
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Word
Microsoft Outlook
Adobe Acrobat
Internet browsers
Ability to successfully complete Collin CAD employment testing.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
Ability to stand for extended periods when necessary.
Occasional bending, kneeling, carrying, or pushing.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet deadlines.
Compensation and Benefits
This position is classified as exempt and is a salaried position. Starting salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
